($25 entrance fee)
For the first time ever, the Fatty FatOff will be a battle of the sexes! The team with the highest percentage weight lost wins prizes, lunch and bragging rights. Leaders within the teams are eligible for prizes as well.
See the prizes section below for details.
Contestants:
- All potential contestants must be in good health and willing to work
hard for the full 8 weeks (Yes, you read that correctly -- 8 weeks!) to
make themselves healthier and more fit. This contest does not promote any
crash diets or any other extreme diet/weight loss methods. The contest
will be extended to 8 weeks this year to encourage contestants to lose
weight in a healthy and sustainable manner.
- Contestants must register and pay the $25 general registration fee on
or by the start of the competition.
- Contestants will have 8 weeks to lose the largest PERCENTAGE
% of their total body weight. (A 160lb person who loses 10lbs = 6.25%
of their body weight.)
Weigh-Ins:
- Initial weigh-in will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 11th.
- Required weekly weigh-ins will take place at 11:00am every Monday for
the duration of the contest. Weekly weigh-ins are to help motivate and
track everyone's progress so please, no sandbagging.
- If you are not available on the day of a weigh-in, you will need to weigh
in at the next possible time when you return.
- Final weigh-in will take place on Monday March 7th. You MUST be present
for the final weigh-in in order to win any prizes. All weigh-ins will
happen fully-clothed minus belts, shoes, jewelry and watches.
Rules:
- You are required to wear the same exact clothes at the initial and final
weigh ins. Photos will be taken to serve as a reminder -- no exceptions!
- While weight tampering is highly discouraged, any alterations made must
occur inside the body. You may choose to drink and/or eat as little or
as much as you like prior to the initial weigh-in, but you may not:
- wet your hair or clothing
- fill your pockets, underpants, socks, mouth, etc. with sand, water
or other heavy material
- wear ankle weights, backpacks, fanny packs, camelpacks, etc.
- wear multiple shirts, hats, pairs of pants, socks, etc. (unless you
intend to wear the same for the final weigh-in)
- ingest anything that could be detrimental to your health
- All contestants must be weighed using the official Fat-O-Meter scale.
No contestant should be on the scale outside of official weigh-ins.
- Will-power related sabotage is permissible. For instance, someone may
leave a Krispy Kreme donut box in the proximity of one or more contestants
to tempt their strength.
- Any sabotage or tampering with the official Fat-O-Meter scale or a contestant's
weigh-in results is not permitted and is grounds for disqualification.
- All contestants must accept the terms of this contest listed above to
participate, therefore all whining about rules and/or dates of contest
will be ignored with zeal!
- If any conflict arises that impacts the winner(s) of this contest, a
committee of three non-participants will be appointed to settle the issue.
Their decision will be final.
- In the event that a reasonable decision or solution is not possible,
contestants will be notified and only then given the option to drop
out of the contest and have their registration fees returned to them.
Any contestant may drop out of the competition at any time, but will
forfeit their registration fee unless otherwise
stated by the committee, no exceptions.
Prizes:
- Team Prizes The team that loses
the highest percentage of their body weight overall will receive a lunch party from Lenny's and 50% of
collected registration fees to be divided equally among its members.
- Team Winner Prizes The person on each team who loses the highest percentage of their body weight will receive 20% of collected registration fees.
- Overall Winner The person who loses the highest percentage of their body weight overall will receive the additional 10% of collected registration fees, only if they are on the winning team.
If they are not, that 10% goes to the team prize pot.
